Background:
Born to lower middle class parents, Jettero led a rather mundane life in Austin Texas. At a young age he enrolled in martial arts classes and was taught discipline of the mind and body. As a young adult he would often stand up for smaller kids getting pushed around by bullies. As he got older he strived for something more than the ordinary life he was leading. Upon reaching the age of 17 fortune came in the form of a Navy recruiter. Jettero decided upon graduation to enter the Navy and to become a member of a SEAL team.
The training was hard and he felt as if it would kill him. Jettero refused to give into pain or exhaustion and with a will of iron he finally attained the goal he had set for himself just a mere 20 months before. Being a SEAL allowed Jettero to learn many forms of both armed and unarmed combat. Seeing many parts of the world, usually under cover of darkness, Jettero rose through the ranks quickly with his ability to see every situation tactically. Many years passed from one mission to another. Jettero’s life was never boring but even though he had reached the pinnacle of mind and body, there was still something lacking in his life. Fortune would once again visit him.
Jettero’s final mission as a SEAL was not meant to be his last. Something strange and at the same time wonderful happened that would change his life forever. As the mission and what happened is still classified much speculation has gone into just what transpired. All that is commonly known is that the mission somehow went awry and only Jettero and 2 others returned alive. Battered and weary all 3 looked as if they had just fought their way back from hell. As the days went on after their return the other 2 members of his team deteriorated. Specialists from all over the country were brought in but nothing could be done to help them. Jettero looked on, the perfect picture of health as his 2 comrades died. All of his teammates, who he looked on as friends and family were gone. He was suddenly alone.
Not able to cope with the loss, Jettero resigned from the Navy and went back home to Austin. As the days and weeks moved on he started to notice some very small changes. He was able to run faster than he ever had before. He never seemed to get tired no matter how hard he would push himself. His skin, although just as soft to the touch was almost impossible to cut or bruise. The more he tested the boundaries of his newfound talents the more powerful they became. Jettero came to understand that he had somehow been changed into something more…..something he had been striving for his entire life. Making the decision to use the gifts he had somehow been given to help humanity, Jettero donned a costume and set out to help those who could not help themselves. Providing his services to help law enforcement battle the occasional super villain that they were not equipped to handle. Jettero, now calling himself the Texas Titan, became somewhat of a role model and celebrity of sorts in Austin. Deciding after a time that the double life he was leading was not his true calling, Jettero made his real identity public and took a job as a Texas government sanctioned hero.
Texas Titan served the State of Texas for several years with great effectiveness. When the Rikti invaded he was on the front lines fighting with all he had but the sheer numbers of the invasion were too much for even him to handle alone. Answering a call from the Governor of Texas he attended a gathering of Texas heroes. From this meeting the first incarnation of LONE S.T.A.R. was born. Texas Titan took the reigns of leader with his battle experience and tactical mind. Fighting the Rikti in one city after another, with the aid of the other heroes, in due time the alien invasion force was defeated, but the cost was great. Many heroes were lost along with Texas Titan’s own parents in the fighting.
After the victory Texas Titan vowed to help Paragon City. With the criminals taking advantage of the city's depleted heroes and the Rikti still having a strong presence there. Paragon City was still a very unsafe place for people to live. Paragon City was hit hardest and hundreds of heroes had died defending the city. Most of the other members of LONE S.T.A.R. decided to join with Texas Titan, with a few staying behind to keep watch over their homes and family.
